Normally I only work with A2 tool steel but sometimes I dabble in using damascus, I still do a differential heat treat which you can see in the knife etch and I think it keeps the performance of the steel where I like it. This knife is deceptivly light and ground super thin for excellent performance from chopping vegetables to slicing and trimming meat. The handle is of Honduran Rosewood Burl and is not stabilized so it will need to be oiled like nice cutting board but it is so dense it will not expand or contract with humidity. This will be a wonderful addition to anyone's kitchen and last you for years to come.
